Some people try to “just be friends” or some other thing that is, essentially, a way to keep the other person in your life. This is a bad idea. If you want to be friends down the road you can, but when the breakup is new, and the pain still raw, it is best to make a clean break.

This means no phone calls, no texts and no checking their Facebook page. It will be harder to move on if you’re still keeping a connection with your ex.

Don’t Ask What You Don’t Want to Know
